Knowledge for your next measurement
Selection guidance and practical checklists for instrument planning.

Practical starting points for your next instrumentation conversation.
Start with the medium and the installation. Technology suitability changes with conductivity, viscosity, solids, gas content and the available pipe arrangement.
Identify the fluid, its composition and whether it contains bubbles or suspended solids. Include conductivity or viscosity when available.
Record minimum, normal and maximum flow, temperature and pressure. Identify whether conditions change during cleaning or startup.
Provide pipe diameter and material, orientation, available straight runs, power supply and required outputs. Confirm whether the pipe stays full.
Discuss accuracy, materials, enclosure protection and any applicable approvals. Validate all requirements against the final manufacturer's documentation.
